And now, behold, Jehovah^H3068 hath kept me alive,^H2421 as he spake,^H1696 these forty^H705 and five^H2568 years,^H8141 from the time^H227 that Jehovah^H3068 spake^H1696 this word^H1697 unto Moses,^H4872 while Israel^H3478 walked^H1980 in the wilderness:^H4057 and now, lo, I am this day^H3117 fourscore^H8084 and five^H2568 years^H8141 old.^H1121

And the children^H1121 of the Kenite,^H7017 Moses'^H4872 brother-in-law,^H2859 went up^H5927 out of the city^H5892 of palm-trees^H8558 with the children^H1121 of Judah^H3063 into the wilderness^H4057 of Judah,^H3063 which is in the south^H5045 of Arad;^H6166 and they went^H3212 and dwelt^H3427 with^H854 the people.^H5971

Bring forth^G4160 therefore^G3767 fruit^G2590 worthy^G514 of repentance:^G3341

Verily^G281 I say^G3004 unto you,^G5213 Among^G1722 them that are born^G1084 of women^G1135 there has^G1453 not^G3756 arisen^G1453 a greater than^G3187 John^G2491 the Baptist:^G910 yet^G1161 he that is but little^G3398 in^G1722 the kingdom^G932 of heaven^G3772 is^G2076 greater than^G3187 he.^G846

And^G1161 they said,^G2036 Some^G3303 [say] John^G2491 the Baptist;^G910 some,^G1161 Elijah;^G2243 and^G1161 others,^G2087 Jeremiah,^G2408 or^G2228 one^G1520 of the prophets.^G4396

But^G1161 Herod,^G2264 when he heard^G191 [thereof], said,^{G3754 G2076 G2076} John,^G2491 whom^G3739 I^G1473 beheaded,^G607 he^G846 is risen.^{G1453 G1537 G3498}

Yea and^G2532 thou,^G4771 child,^G3813 shalt be called^G2564 the prophet^G4396 of the Most High:^G5310 For^G1063 thou shalt go^G4313 before^G4253 the face^G4383 of the Lord^G2962 to make ready^G2090 his^G846 ways;^G3598

And when^G1161 the messengers^G32 of John^G2491 were departed,^G565 he began^G756 to say^G3004 unto^G4314 the multitudes^G3793 concerning^G4012 John,^G2491 What^G5101 went ye out^G1831 into^G1519 the wilderness^G2048 to behold?^G2300 a reed^G2563 shaken^G4531 with^G5259 the wind?^G417

John^G2491 beareth witness^G3140 of^G4012 him,^G846 and^G2532 crieth,^G2896 saying,^G3004 This^G3778 was^G2258 he of whom^G3739 I said,^G2036 He that^G3588 cometh^G2064 after^G3694 me^G3450 is become^G1096 before^G1715 me:^G3450 for^G3754 he was^G2258 before^G4413 me.^G3450
