My son,H1121 be wise,H2449 and make my heartH3820 glad,H8055 That I may answerH7725 him that reproachethH2778 me.

A prudentH6175 man seethH7200 the evil,H7451 [and] hidethH5641 himself; [But] the simpleH6612 pass on,H5674 [and] sufferH6064 for it.

TakeH3947 his garmentH899 that is suretyH6148 for a stranger;H2114 And hold him in pledgeH2254 [that is surety] for a foreign woman.H5237

He that blessethH1288 his friendH7453 with a loudH1419 voice,H6963 rising earlyH7925 in the morning,H1242 It shall be countedH2803 a curseH7045 to him.

A continualH2956 droppingH1812 in a very rainyH5464 dayH3117 And a contentiousH4079 womanH802 are alike:H7737

He that would restrainH6845 her restrainethH6845 the wind;H7307 And his right handH3225 encounterethH7121 oil.H8081

IronH1270 sharpenethH2300 iron;H1270 So a manH376 sharpenethH2300 the countenanceH6440 of his friend.H7453

Whoso keepethH5341 the fig-treeH8384 shall eatH398 the fruitH6529 thereof; And he that regardethH8104 his masterH113 shall be honored.H3513

As in waterH4325 faceH6440 [answereth] to face,H6440 So the heartH3820 of manH120 to man.H120

The lambsH3532 are for thy clothing,H3830 And the goatsH6260 are the priceH4242 of the field;H7704
