My sonne, forget not thou my lawe, but see that thine heart kepe my commaundementes:
He taught me also and sayde vnto me, let thyne heart receaue my wordes, kepe my commaundementes and thou shalt liue.
Alas, why hated I nurture? why did my heart dispise correction?
For the commaundement is a lanterne, and the lawe a light: yea chastening and nurture is the way of life:
Correction is greeuous vnto hym that forsaketh the way: and who so hateth correction shall dye.
Bowe downe thyne eare, and heare the wordes of the wise: applie thy mind vnto my doctrine:
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy fleshe for to sinne, neither say thou before the angell that it is thy ignoraunce: for then God wyll be angry at thy voyce, and destroy all the worke of thyne handes.
But he sayde: Yea rather happy are they that heare the worde of God, and kepe it.
See that ye despise not hym that speaketh: For yf they escaped not, which refused hym that spake on earth: much more shall we not escape yf we turne away from hym that speaketh from heauen:
