Back to passage

More pleasunt are they then golde, yee then moch fyne golde: sweter then hony & the hony combe.

O how swete are thy wordes vnto my throte? Yee more the hony vnto my mouth.

I am as glad of thy worde, as one yt fyndeth greate spoyles.

Yf wy?dome entre in to thine herte, and yi soule delyte in knowlege:

My sonne, marcke my wordes, and enclyne thine eare vnto my saynges.

Geue eare, for I wil speake of greate matters, & open my lippes to tell thinges that be right.

The lippes of the rightuous fede a whole multitude, but fooles shal dye in their owne foly.

Who so hath a wyse vnderstondinge, is called to councell: but he yt can speake fayre, getteth more riches.

A worde spoken in due season, is like apples of golde in a syluer dyshe.

For the prestes lippes shulde be sure knowlege, that men maye seke the lawe at his mouth, for he is a messaunger of the LORDE of hoostes.

Let vs therfore by him offre allwayes vnto God the sacrifice of prayse: that is to saye, the frute of those lippes which confesse his name.
