Back to passage

Graunte me wy?dome therfore and knowlege, yt I maye go out and in before this people: for who is able to iudge this greate people of thine?

Thorow thy commaundementes I get vnderstondinge, therfore I hate all false wayes.

To haue wy?dome in possession is better then golde, and to get vnderstondynge, is more worth then syluer.

Labor for to get ye treuth: sell not awaye wy?dome, nourtor & vnderstodinge

There is one man, no mo but himself alone, hauynge nether childe ner brother: yet is there no ende of his carefull trauayle, his eyes can not be satisfied with riches, (yet doth he not remembre himself, & saye:) For whom do I take soch trauayle? For whose pleasure do I thus consume awaye my lyfe? This is also a vayne and miserable thinge.

Then sayde I: wy?dome is better then strength. Neuertheles, a symple mans wy?dome is despysed, & his wordes are not herde.
