Back to passage

And the Philistims preassed sore vpon Saul and his sonnes, and slewe Ionathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua Sauls sonnes.

Then there was a famine in the dayes of Dauid, three yeeres together: and Dauid asked counsell of the Lorde, and the Lorde answered, It is for Saul, & for his bloodie house, because hee slewe the Gibeonites.

They also, that rewarde euill for good, are mine aduersaries, because I followe goodnesse.

For my friendship they were mine aduersaries, but I gaue my selfe to praier.

Shall euill be recompensed for good? for they haue digged a pit for my soule: remember that I stood before thee, to speake good for the, and to turne away thy wrath from them.

Then answered all the people, and saide, His bloud be on vs, and on our children.

See that none recompense euil for euil vnto any man: but euer folow that which is good, both toward your selues, and toward all men.
