¶ For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
¶ Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
¶ But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
¶ Let brotherly love continue.
¶ Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
¶ And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
¶ And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
[And] we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
