¶ Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there [am] I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
‹But if he will not hear› [thee, then] ‹take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.›
¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
‹For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;›
‹I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.›
‹I and› [my] ‹Father are one.›
‹Father, glorify thy name.› Then came there a voice from heaven, [saying], I have both glorified [it], and will glorify [it] again.
And we are his witnesses of these things; and [so is] also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, [be] with you all. Amen.
For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
¶ This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
