And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.
[Certain] men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
¶ [Now] as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, [and] beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.
And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
