¶ And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up [riches], and knoweth not who shall gather them.

¶ Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all [things] that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this [is] also vanity.

And none considereth in his heart, neither [is there] knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten [it]: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?

¶ Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I [am] a dry tree.

‹Come unto me, all› [ye] ‹that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.›

For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
