Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it [is] a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that [ye] may know that I [am] the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing [is] this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

¶ A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

¶ Praise ye the LORD. Blessed [is] the man [that] feareth the LORD, [that] delighteth greatly in his commandments.

¶ I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.

Take fast hold of instruction; let [her] not go: keep her; for she [is] thy life.

¶ A wise [man] feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

¶ The highway of the upright [is] to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose [the things] that please me, and take hold of my covenant;

¶ If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words:

Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I [am] the LORD that sanctify them.

But he said, ‹Yea rather, blessed› [are] ‹they that hear the word of God, and keep it.›

‹If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.›

Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
