But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

[He is] wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened [himself] against him, and hath prospered?

¶ The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth [abundantly].

Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

¶ Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken [so much] against thee?

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion [is] vain.
