¶ But Jesus answered them, ‹My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.›

¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, ‹I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.›

Jesus said unto them, ‹Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.›

‹But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father› [is] ‹in me, and I in him.›

¶ But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
