The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

‹I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.›

‹Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw› [it], ‹and was glad.›

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

¶ Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
