Back to passage

¶ And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.

¶ And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews.

Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.

‹For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay› [them] ‹on men's shoulders; but they› [themselves] ‹will not move them with one of their fingers.›
