And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.

What [is] man, that he should be clean? and [he which is] born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

¶ And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

‹That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.›

‹Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven,› [shall he] ‹not much more› [clothe] ‹you, O ye of little faith?›

‹If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?›

‹But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.›

Jesus answered and said unto her, ‹If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.›

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.
