¶ And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

Many bulls have compassed me: strong [bulls] of Bashan have beset me round.

Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

¶ A Song of degrees. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.

¶ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
