He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

¶ [Is it] nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted [me] in the day of his fierce anger.

And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, ‹Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?›

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

¶ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
