‹And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.›

Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ‹All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.›

¶ And he called [unto him] the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

And when it was day, he called [unto him] his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

‹Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.›

‹And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.›

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

‹As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.›

‹But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.›

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

And had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
