Back to passage

¶ Nevertheless the dimness [shall] not [be] such as [was] in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict [her by] the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses.

‹But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?›

‹For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.›

‹But› [this cometh to pass], ‹that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.›

For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
