For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel [to be] a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.

¶ The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, [and] Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

‹For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.›

Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
