¶ The Creation of the World In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The LORD rules forever! The nations are driven out of his land.

The LORD’s shout is powerful, the LORD’s shout is majestic.

He says,“Stop your striving and recognize that I am God! I will be exalted over the nations! I will be exalted over the earth!”

Rise up above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth!

Rise up above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth!

For you, O LORD, are the Most High over the whole earth; you are elevated high above all gods.

The LORD reigns! The nations tremble. He sits enthroned above the cherubim; the earth shakes.

Praise the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are magnificent. You are robed in splendor and majesty.

A psalm of praise, by David. I will extol you, my God, O king! I will praise your name continually!

so that mankind might acknowledge your mighty acts, and the majestic splendor of your kingdom.

At that time you will say:“Praise the LORD! Ask him for help! Publicize his mighty acts among the nations! Make it known that he is unique!

This is what the LORD says:“The heavens are my throne and the earth is my footstool. Where then is the house you will build for me? Where is the place where I will rest?

“I made the earth and the people and animals on it by my mighty power and great strength, and I give it to whomever I see fit.

The king uttered these words:“Is this not the great Babylon that I have built for a royal residence by my own mighty strength and for my majestic honor?”

But at the end of the appointed time I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up toward heaven, and my sanity returned to me. I extolled the Most High, and I praised and glorified the one who lives forever. For his authority is an everlasting authority, and his kingdom extends from one generation to the next.

Now to the eternal king, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word, and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
