Moreover, you are to tell the Israelites,‘If any man curses his God he will bear responsibility for his sin,
some evil people have departed from among you to entice the inhabitants of their cities, saying,“Let’s go and serve other gods”(whom you have not known before).
They were having a good time, when suddenly some men of the city, some good-for-nothings, surrounded the house and kept beating on the door. They said to the old man who owned the house,“Send out the man who came to visit you so we can take carnal knowledge of him.”
Justice is driven back; godliness stands far off. Indeed, honesty stumbles in the city square and morality is not even able to enter.
The Jewish leaders replied,“We are not going to stone you for a good deed but for blasphemy, because you, a man, are claiming to be God.”
They brought forward false witnesses who said,“This man does not stop saying things against this holy place and the law.
