The LORD said to Gideon,“You have too many men for me to hand Midian over to you. Israel might brag,‘Our own strength has delivered us.’

Personal Appeal of Paul But you know it was because of a physical illness that I first proclaimed the gospel to you,

even though we were dead in offenses, made us alive together with Christ– by grace you are saved!–

To me– less than the least of all the saints– this grace was given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

in that our gospel did not come to you merely in words, but in power and in the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction(surely you recall the character we displayed when we came among you to help you).
