¶ I. The Prologue(1:1-2:13)Job’s Good Life There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. And that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.

Guide me into your truth and teach me. For you are the God who delivers me; on you I rely all day long.

It is best to take hold of one warning without letting go of the other warning; for the one who fears God will follow both warnings.

In the west, people respect the LORD’s reputation; in the east they recognize his splendor. For he comes like a rushing stream driven on by wind sent from the LORD.

Peter Raises Dorcas Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha(which in translation means Dorcas). She was continually doing good deeds and acts of charity.

When the angel who had spoken to him departed, Cornelius called two of his personal servants and a devout soldier from among those who served him,

Exhortation to Pray for the Success of Paul’s Mission Be devoted to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.

But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him.
