I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that you will surely and swiftly be removed from the very land you are about to cross the Jordan to possess. You will not last long there because you will surely be annihilated.
Beware that the heart of no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you turns away from the LORD our God today to pursue and serve the gods of those nations; beware that there is among you no root producing poisonous and bitter fruit.
Gather to me all your tribal elders and officials so I can speak to them directly about these things and call the heavens and the earth to witness against them.
May their dining table become a trap before them! May it be a snare for that group of friends!
The Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies, is certainly ready to carry out the decreed destruction throughout the land.
So now, do not mock, or your chains will become heavier! For I have heard a message about decreed destruction, from the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies, against the entire land.
Having suffered, he will reflect on his work, he will be satisfied when he understands what he has done.“My servant will acquit many, for he carried their sins.
“Indeed, a time is coming,” says the LORD,“when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.
Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish a lasting covenant with you.
Then I heard a holy one speaking. Another holy one said to the one who was speaking,“To what period of time does the vision pertain– this vision concerning the daily sacrifice and the destructive act of rebellion and the giving over of both the sanctuary and army to be trampled?”
From the time that the daily sacrifice is removed and the abomination that causes desolation is set in place, there are 1,290 days.
for this is my blood, the blood of the covenant, that is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
The Abomination of Desolation“But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be”(let the reader understand),“then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.
They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away as captives among all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
For just as through the disobedience of the one man many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man many will be made righteous.
For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth to confirm the promises made to the fathers,
who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us severely. They are displeasing to God and are opposed to all people,
But showing its fault, God says to them,“Look, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will complete a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
so also, after Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, to those who eagerly await him he will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation.
Benediction and Conclusion Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus,
