¶ Organizing the Census of the Israelites Now the LORD spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites departed from the land of Egypt. He said:

Say to them,‘As I live, says the LORD, I will surely do to you just what you have spoken in my hearing.

For the LORD had said of them,“They will surely die in the wilderness.” And there was not left a single man of them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Now it is ordinarily an eleven-day journey from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea by way of Mount Seir.

Judgment at Kadesh Barnea When the LORD heard you, he became angry and made this vow:

Therefore, you remained at Kadesh for a long time– indeed, for the full time.

Yes, throughout all our days we experience your raging fury; the years of our lives pass quickly, like a sigh.

So he made a solemn vow that he would make them die in the wilderness,

But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were cut down in the wilderness.

Jude 1:5 TSK

Now I desire to remind you(even though you have been fully informed of these facts once for all) that Jesus, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, later destroyed those who did not believe.
