Therefore, tell the Israelites,‘I am the LORD. I will bring you out from your enslavement to the Egyptians, I will rescue you from the hard labor they impose, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

And Moses said to the LORD,“Why have you afflicted your servant? Why have I not found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of this entire people on me?

Then they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and said,“O God, the God of the spirits of all people, will you be angry with the whole community when only one man sins?”

Why should the name of our father be lost from among his family because he had no son? Give us a possession among the relatives of our father.”

I prayed to him: O, Sovereign LORD, do not destroy your people, your valued property that you have powerfully redeemed, whom you brought out of Egypt by your strength.

He threatened to destroy them, but Moses, his chosen one, interceded with him and turned back his destructive anger.

LORD, you have always been fair whenever I have complained to you. However, I would like to speak with you about the disposition of justice. Why are wicked people successful? Why do all dishonest people have such easy lives?

“Now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with great power and made a name for yourself that is remembered to this day– we have sinned and behaved wickedly.
