By the sweat of your brow you will eat food until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you will return.”

But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God and said,“O LORD, why does your anger burn against your people, whom you have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

how much more to those who live in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed like a moth?

Therefore I despise myself, and I repent in dust and ashes!

O LORD, of what importance is the human race, that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should be concerned about them?

I said,“Woe to me! I am destroyed, for my lips are contaminated by sin, and I live among people whose lips are contaminated by sin. My eyes have seen the king, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.”

But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying,“Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

The first man is from the earth, made of dust; the second man is from heaven.
