Then she died in Kiriath Arba(that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan. Abraham went to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.

So Jacob came back to his father Isaac in Mamre, to Kiriath Arba(that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had stayed.

He asked them how they were doing. Then he said,“Is your aging father well, the one you spoke about? Is he still alive?”

Joshua asked God to empower Caleb son of Jephunneh and assigned him Hebron.

Jesse said to his son David,“Take your brothers this ephah of roasted grain and these ten loaves of bread; go quickly to the camp to your brothers.

After David had entrusted his cargo to the care of the supply officer, he ran to the battlefront. When he arrived, he asked his brothers how they were doing.

May Joab and his descendants be perpetually guilty of their shed blood, but may the LORD give perpetual peace to David, his descendants, his family, and his dynasty.”

As for those who are bent on traveling a sinful path, may the LORD remove them, along with those who behave wickedly! May Israel experience peace!

saying,“If you had only known on this day, even you, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
