When Lot hesitated, the men grabbed his hand and the hands of his wife and two daughters because the LORD had compassion on them. They led them away and placed them outside the city.

so that you may enter by oath into the covenant the LORD your God is making with you today.

Then the LORD said to Moses,“You are about to die, and then these people will begin to prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land into which they are going. They will reject me and break my covenant that I have made with them.

But since you abandoned me and worshiped other gods, I will not deliver you again.

I will make you pass under the shepherd’s staff, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

You also do this: You cover the altar of the LORD with tears as you weep and groan, because he no longer pays any attention to the offering nor accepts it favorably from you.
