Purity in the Treatment of the Nonprivileged You must not return an escaped slave to his master when he has run away to you.

Why do you look with envy, O mountains with many peaks, at the mountain where God has decided to live? Indeed the LORD will live there permanently!

For our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.

He said,“This will be my resting place forever; I will live here, for I have chosen it.

Look, I and the sons whom the LORD has given me are reminders and object lessons in Israel, sent from the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, who lives on Mount Zion.

The full moon will be covered up, the bright sun will be darkened; for the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will rule on Mount Zion in Jerusalem in the presence of his assembly, in majestic splendor.

Instead the LORD will rule there as our mighty king. Rivers and wide streams will flow through it; no war galley will enter; no large ships will sail through.

Go up on a high mountain, O herald Zion! Shout out loudly, O herald Jerusalem! Shout, don’t be afraid! Say to the towns of Judah,“Here is your God!”

You will winnow them and the wind will blow them away; the wind will scatter them. You will rejoice in the LORD; you will boast in the Holy One of Israel.

How delightful it is to see approaching over the mountains the feet of a messenger who announces peace, a messenger who brings good news, who announces deliverance, who says to Zion,“Your God reigns!”

Zion Will Be Secure“Shout for joy, O barren one who has not given birth! Give a joyful shout and cry out, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one are more numerous than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD.

The circumference of the city will be six miles. The name of the city from that day forward will be:‘The LORD Is There.’”

Beware, you who live by the sea, the people who came from Crete. The LORD’s message is against you, Canaan, land of the Philistines:“I will destroy everyone who lives there!”

But I(the LORD says) will be a wall of fire surrounding Jerusalem and the source of glory in her midst.’”

“Sing out and be happy, Zion my daughter! For look, I have come; I will settle in your midst,” says the LORD.
