I go about blackened, but not by the sun; in the assembly I stand up and cry for help.

I am numb with pain and severely battered; I groan loudly because of the anxiety I feel.

Those who are eager to do wrong draw near; they are far from your law.

Like a swallow or a thrush I chirp, I coo like a dove; my eyes grow tired from looking up to the sky. O Lord, I am oppressed; help me!
