He watches over his holy ones, but the wicked are made speechless in the darkness, for it is not by one’s own strength that one prevails.

Into your hand I entrust my life; you will rescue me, O LORD, the faithful God.

But the LORD continually shows loyal love to his faithful followers, and is faithful to their descendants,

But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, growing brighter and brighter until full day.

Israel will be delivered once and for all by the LORD; you will never again be ashamed or humiliated.

Pay attention and come to me! Listen, so you can live! Then I will make an unconditional covenantal promise to you, just like the reliable covenantal promises I made to David.

“People will no longer need to teach their neighbors and relatives to know me. For all of them, from the least important to the most important, will know me,” says the LORD.“For I will forgive their sin and will no longer call to mind the wrong they have done.”

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect.

Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said,“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And after he said this he breathed his last.

The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him.

“I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life.

Do not work for the food that disappears, but for the food that remains to eternal life– the food which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has put his seal of approval on him.”

Now this is the will of the one who sent me– that I should not lose one person of every one he has given me, but raise them all up at the last day.

Simon Peter answered him,“Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

In a little while the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.

I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them safe in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one.

They continued to stone Stephen while he prayed,“Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”

Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by his blood, we will be saved through him from God’s wrath.

so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Believer’s Relationship to the Holy Spirit There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

But here is why I was treated with mercy: so that in me as the worst, Christ Jesus could demonstrate his utmost patience, as an example for those who are going to believe in him for eternal life.

So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us, because if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But they went out from us to demonstrate that all of them do not belong to us.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Final Blessing Now to the one who is able to keep you from falling, and to cause you to stand, rejoicing, without blemish before his glorious presence,
