Then her husband Elkanah said to her,“Hannah, why are you crying and why won’t you eat? Why are you so upset? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

Then he said to them,“What are these matters you are discussing so intently as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking sad.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.

I tell you the solemn truth, you will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice; you will be sad, but your sadness will turn into joy.

So she went running to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved and told them,“They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

Then Paul replied,“What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be tied up, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
