Who would have believed what we just heard? When was the LORD’s power revealed through him?

I spread out my hands all day long to my rebellious people, who lived in a way that is morally unacceptable, and who did what they desired.

Judgment on Israel“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How often I have longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you would have none of it!

He came to what was his own, but his own people did not receive him.

Jesus replied,“I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven– the Son of Man.

More Testimony About Jesus“If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

So Jesus replied,“My teaching is not from me, but from the one who sent me.

Then Jesus said,“When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing on my own initiative, but I speak just what the Father taught me.

The Outcome of Jesus’ Public Ministry Foretold Although Jesus had performed so many miraculous signs before them, they still refused to believe in him,

The person who does not love me does not obey my words. And the word you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

They set a day to meet with him, and they came to him where he was staying in even greater numbers. From morning until evening he explained things to them, testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets.

¶ The Prologue to the Letter This is what we proclaim to you: what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched(concerning the word of life–

and from Jesus Christ– the faithful witness, the firstborn from among the dead, the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has set us free from our sins at the cost of his own blood
