You must say to Pharaoh,‘This is what the LORD has said,“Israel is my son, my firstborn,

Is this how you repay the LORD, you foolish, unwise people? Is he not your father, your Creator? He has made you and established you.

For you are our father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not recognize us. You, LORD, are our father; you have been called our protector from ancient times.

“I thought to myself,‘Oh what a joy it would be for me to treat you like a son! What a joy it would be for me to give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful piece of property there is in all the world!’ I thought you would call me,‘Father’ and would never cease being loyal to me.

“‘You took your sons and your daughters whom you bore to me and you sacrificed them as food for the idols to eat. As if your prostitution was not enough,
