The same law will apply to the person who is native-born and to the resident foreigner who lives among you.”

One statute must apply to you who belong to the congregation and to the resident foreigner who is living among you, as a permanent statute for your future generations. You and the resident foreigner will be alike before the LORD.

You must have one law for the person who sins unintentionally, both for the native-born among the Israelites and for the resident foreigner who lives among them.

Moreover, Moses commanded the people that day:

You are standing today, all of you, before the LORD your God– the heads of your tribes, your elders, your officials, every Israelite man,

Gather the people– men, women, and children, as well as the resident foreigners in your villages– so they may hear and thus learn about and fear the LORD your God and carefully obey all the words of this law.

and commanded the people:“When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God being carried by the Levitical priests, you must leave here and walk behind it.

So when the people left their tents to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them.
