God also said to Moses,“You must say this to the Israelites,‘The LORD– the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob– has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial from generation to generation.’

They judged the people under normal circumstances; the difficult cases they would bring to Moses, but every small case they would judge themselves.

Moreover, you are to tell the Israelites,‘If any man curses his God he will bear responsibility for his sin,

Nonetheless, because you have treated the LORD with such contempt in this matter, the son who has been born to you will certainly die.”

The two villains arrived and sat opposite him. Then the villains testified against Naboth right before the people, saying,“Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they dragged him outside the city and stoned him to death.

Who among all the gods of the lands has rescued their lands from my power? So how can the LORD rescue Jerusalem from my power?’”

Isaiah said to them,“Tell your master this:‘This is what the LORD has said:“Don’t be afraid because of the things you have heard, because the Assyrian king’s officers have insulted me.

Whom have you taunted and hurled insults at? At whom have you shouted, and looked so arrogantly? At the Holy One of Israel!

When the days of their feasting were finished, Job would send for them and sanctify them; he would get up early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job thought,“Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s customary practice.

Then his wife said to him,“Are you still holding firmly to your integrity? Curse God, and die!”

Rise up, O God! Defend your honor! Remember how fools insult you all day long!

Then the high priest tore his clothes and declared,“He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Now you have heard the blasphemy!

For just as it is written,“the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their sufferings and because of their sores, but nevertheless they still refused to repent of their deeds.
