I have asked the LORD for one thing– this is what I desire! I want to live in the LORD’s house all the days of my life, so I can gaze at the splendor of the LORD and contemplate in his temple.

I sought the LORD’s help and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Pray to me when you are in trouble! I will deliver you, and you will honor me!”

In my distress I cried out to the LORD. The LORD answered me and put me in a wide open place.

I opened for my beloved, but my lover had already turned and gone away. I fell into despair when he departed. I looked for him but did not find him; I called him but he did not answer me.

Seek the LORD while he makes himself available; call to him while he is nearby!
