he said to them,“Keep in mind all the words I am solemnly proclaiming to you today; you must command your children to observe carefully all the words of this law.

There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way that leads to death.

For whoever has will be given more, and will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

If anyone has ears to hear, he had better listen!”

“Take these words to heart, for the Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.”

So he called the manager in and said to him,‘What is this I hear about you? Turn in the account of your administration, because you can no longer be my manager.’

‘I tell you that everyone who has will be given more, but from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.

Therefore I sent for you at once, and you were kind enough to come. So now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to say to us.”

Conduct in Humility For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith.

If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know.

If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, he should acknowledge that what I write to you is the Lord’s command.

Warning Against Drifting Away Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.
