Soon after these things, his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said,“Come to bed with me.”

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of his palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. Now this woman was very attractive.

If my heart has been enticed by a woman, and I have lain in wait at my neighbor’s door,

Do not lust in your heart for her beauty, and do not let her captivate you with her alluring eyes;

But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer. But whoever strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other to him as well.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! Certainly, I would not have known sin except through the law. For indeed I would not have known what it means to desire something belonging to someone else if the law had not said,“Do not covet.”

But each one is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desires.

because all that is in the world(the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the arrogance produced by material possessions) is not from the Father, but is from the world.
