Fear the LORD, my child, as well as the king, and do not associate with rebels,

If the anger of the ruler flares up against you, do not resign from your position, for a calm response can undo great offenses.

Do not listen to them. Be subject to the king of Babylon. Then you will continue to live. Why should this city be made a pile of rubble?’”

“The experts in the law and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat.

So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

For we are his creative work, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we can do them.

so that you may live worthily of the Lord and please him in all respects– bearing fruit in every good deed, growing in the knowledge of God,

By pointing out such things to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, having nourished yourself on the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.

Because of this I remind you to rekindle God’s gift that you possess through the laying on of my hands.

He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his, who are eager to do good.

Here is another way that our people can learn to engage in good works to meet pressing needs and so not be unfruitful.
