His brothers envied him, but his father kept this saying in mind.

Balaam said to the angel of Yahweh, "I have sinned; for I didn't know that you stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases you, I will go back again."

Samuel said to him, "Yahweh has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours who is better than you.

For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. Therefore now send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die!"

When Haman saw that Mordecai didn't bow down, nor pay him homage, Haman was full of wrath.

Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before jealousy?
