He took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest. Ahimelech came to meet David trembling, and said to him, "Why are you alone, and no man with you?"

Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests who were in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.

This very day he will halt at Nob. He shakes his hand at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
