It is said that he was a priest at Rome, and was martyred at the hands of the governor Alexander, who seized him and cast him from the bridge into the waters of the Tiber, around the year 222 A.D.
This saint was honored in the fourth or fifth century, and his body was discovered at Ostia, where it had been buried.
His feast is commemorated on the 21st of October
