Pope Mark V was the 98th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark. His papacy is dated to 1603 - 1619 AD. He carried the pastoral and ecclesiastical responsibility of the Coptic Orthodox Church in his generation, preserving its worship, teaching, and communal life.
His place in the Alexandrian succession joins his ministry to the apostolic work begun by Saint Mark the Evangelist. The Church remembers this succession not merely as a chronology of rulers, but as a continuing service of faith, prayer, and care for the people of God.
