and thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

These are the words of the covenant which Jehovah commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.

So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.

and she looked, and, behold, the king stood by the pillar, as the manner was, and the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason! treason!

(for Solomon had made a brazen scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;)

And all Judah rejoiced at the oath; for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and Jehovah gave them rest round about.

Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Jehovah, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

And yet for all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, our Levites, [and] our priests, seal unto it.

and that we would not give our daughters unto the peoples of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons;

I have sworn, and have confirmed it, That I will observe thy righteous ordinances.

They shall inquire concerning Zion with their faces thitherward, [saying], Come ye, and join yourselves to Jehovah in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.
