As God liveth, who hath taken away my right, And the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul:

My strength is dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

that justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who [among them] considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke [was due] ?

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and [ made intercession for the transgressors.

Therefore the law is slacked, and justice doth never go forth; for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore justice goeth forth perverted.

And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient [even] unto death, yea, the death of the cross.
