And he said, I pray you, my brethren, do not so wickedly.
And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.
And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
Thou shalt not wrest justice: thou shalt not respect persons; neither shalt thou take a bribe; for a bribe doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.
And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of Jehovah, and thy words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
Because I feared the great multitude, And the contempt of families terrified me, So that I kept silence, and went not out of the door--
My son, if sinners entice thee, Consent thou not.
Enter not into the path of the wicked, And walk not in the way of evil men.
And the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe; for they had made that the prison.
And Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand; for the king is not he that can do anything against you.
Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wresting [of judgment] : for they say, Jehovah hath forsaken the land, and Jehovah seeth not.
So when Pilate saw that he prevailed nothing, but rather that a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; see ye [to it] .
But they were urgent with loud voices, asking that he might be crucified. And their voices prevailed.
Nicodemus saith unto them (he that came to him before, being one of them),
But Festus, desiring to gain favor with the Jews, answered Paul and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?
But when Cephas came to Antioch, I resisted him to the face, because he stood condemned.
